Bats in the Attic is a goth festival, featuring Goth, Post-Punk, and Darkwave acts from across the World, which takes place at The Alhambra Theatre, Morecambe, UK.

The festival is celebrating its 4th instalment in 2025 and has so far featured live music from bands originating from the UK, Europe, USA, Canada and Costa Rica.

The festival also boasts a unique incentive idea, encouraging early purchase with Beanies (early bird), badges (first 100 tickets), coasters (150 tickets) and fridge magnets (200 tickets). The louder you yell, the more we sell and… SHOTS!

FRIDAY BANDS:

Ghost Dance (UK) – Ghost Dance are a British gothic rock band, known for their blend of goth rock and post-punk influences, initially featuring vocalist Anne-Marie Hurst (Skeletal Family) and guitarist Gary Marx (The Sisters of Mercy). After a period of inactivity, Ghost Dance reformed in 2019, featuring Anne-Marie Hurst and several new members.

The Spiritual Bat (IT) – The Spiritual Bat are an Italian goth rock / deathrock band from Frosinone, first conceived as The Spiritual Bats in 1992. Since the name change the band have released 5 studio albums and are no stranger to the UK having toured here several times.

This Eternal Decay (IT) – This Eternal Decay are an Italian darkwave/industrial/synth-pop band from Rome, who formed in 2018 and have released 5 albums to date. Bats in the Attic 2025 will mark their UK debut and we are very excited to have them play on the Alhambra stage.

SJÖBLOM (SWE) – SJÖBLOM are a Swedish post-punk/electro-pop band formed in 2016 in Stockholm who have released 2 albums since their inception. The core members are Johan Sjöblom Eliot (The Exploding Boy) and Robert Eklind (previously of Malaise) and we are very happy that Bats in the Attic 2025 will see them make their UK debut.

SATURDAY BANDS:

Then Comes Silence (SWE) – Then Comes Silence are a Swedish goth/post-punk band formed in Stockholm in 2012. Since then, the band have released 7 albums and have toured Europe and America extensively. It is no secret that we have tried to bring the band to Morecambe since 2020 and we are so pleased to finally make this happen in 2025.

Dark Side Cowboys (SWE) – Dark Side Cowboys are a western influenced goth rock band from Sweden. Formed in 1993 they have released 11 studio albums and 3 compilations during this time. Bats in the Attic 2025 will mark their first live performance outside of Scandinavia/Finland.

Witch of the Vale (UK) – Witch of the Vale are a Scottish dark electronic duo who have released 1 album and several EPs since their inception. Our reserve band for Bats in the Attic 2024, they were very nearly called into action then, however we are delighted they will make their Alhambra debut in 2025

The Black Capes (GRE) – The Black Capes are a Greek gothic rock band formed in Athens in 2016. They blend gothic rock elements with darkwave influences and have toured extensively in Europe and the UK, releasing three LPs to date.

Naut (UK) – NAUT are a British post-punk/goth-rock band from Bristol, UK. They are known for their dark, danceable, and catchy music, blending post-punk energy with classic goth rock and metal influences. They released their debut album Hunt in 2023.

Chaos Bleak (UK) – Chaos Bleak are a UK-based gothic rock band whose music incorporates heavy riffs, synths, and a driving rhythm, reminiscent of bands like Killing Joke and The Sisters of Mercy. They have released 2 albums so far, A New Age of Darkness in 2021 and Agents of Chaos in 2024 together with several eps, singles and live sets.

Social Youth Cult (UK) – Social Youth Cult are a goth rock band from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK who formed in 2023. This young band blend 80s-inspired post-punk with gothic rock elements and are known for their moody, intense sound. So far, they have released a couple of demo’s, an ep and a single.
